It seems to me that if I take in the correct amount of information (always a
very large amount) and concentrate on it extremely hard, I can force a huge
build-up of cranial pressure.

I assume that eventually the information will burst forth from my skull like
water bursting through an old, rotting dam.

I'm attempting to control this reaction, however, and, hopefully, if I'm in
the vicinity of television cameras when the event takes place, the resulting
fragmenting of information/space within at least ten miles will be recorded
and broadcast, poisoning the minds of millions of pink viewers.

The Chronicle of the Caboose: pt.3

ctd.........!
(sorry about the formatting - damn' Con DOS text)

Friday. Dawn.
Why am I here? All I can remember is the magic number 108. Why
is that magic?
Please tell me!! I would actually be pleased to know. Who am I?
What the hell am I lying
on? A book? Nice place for a book. That picture on the front.
Strangely compelling......

Saturday.
He wondered where everyone was. Apparently there were more
people here a few
days ago. Who knows?
A strange man wandered past, yet didn't seem lost, unlike most of the
inhabitants. Scribeboy
looked at him. He seemed to be wearing the same kind of smoking
jacket that he, the scribe,
wore.
"Whoa! there sir!" Scribeboy cried. The answer was quick and to
the point.
"Who is it that calls me a horse?" The figure smiled. That
same smile! Scribeboy was
even more intrigued.
....."You toy with me sir! I wish merely to look into the beauty of
the 108 with you. Would
that be acceptable, and if not, why not, kind sir, man of many a
smoking jacket by the looks
of that one?."
....."I suppose we may chew the fat for a while, my hasty-soon-to-be-
in-a-rail-caboose type
friend." the figure replied.
....."Chew the fat indeed, my tall well built friend of the fools.
Who are you that makes it
so that you can remember he who has to write everything down, so he
remembers stuff, like
what he who remembers without any book or other such aid, looks like?"
The figure looked thoughtful awhile, then answered "Maybe we ought
to just go the caboose
now."
With this, he led scribeboy off towards the other end of town, the
end he had never seen,
never noticed despite having a map. Friend of the fools
continued.....
....."You must travel to a new land with your knowledge of the 108
and spread the word.
You may also spread other things, but I don't want to know about
that."
....."What new land, oh jacketed one? I've been all over and this is
all I've found, bar you,
my slick haired friend of foolish men!" Scribeboy interjected,
knowing full well that his
mighty, new found friend was right.
....."Do not deny the 108 much longer my son, or I might get vengeful
and smite you, and
keep in mind I have smote in the past. Those I've smitten don't
laugh about it afterwards
with their pals in that slimy bar on Forth Street. Mind you, they
laugh about it with me in
that bar....."
Scribeboy, now happy with his lot, began to prepare mentally for the
long journey ahead.
"How far to the caboose sir?"
"Not far. Not far at all...."
