} >As we have a policy of answering all mail, I'll extend this courtesy to
} yours as well.
}
} We posted the introduction of this page to several newsgroups based on what
} I can only describe as bad advice. Having said that, I take responsibility
} for having done it, and don't blame anyone else.
}
} I have contacted our Postmaster, admitted our error, and assured him it
} won't happen again.
}
} Our postmaster is a nice guy, but has a limited sense of humor when it comes
} to someone trying to trash his server with garbage posts.
}
} I have apologized for my error. That does not, however, grant you unlimited
} and self-appointed privileges to issue edicts to me or anyone else. It also
} does not grant you any special rights to use the InterNet as a device for
} attempting to load a business server with your version of immature,
} delinquent, and unintelligent cyber-retribution.
}
} Whether you are a student at MIT or not, I'm rather surprised someone
} associated with that University is unable to exhibit better self-control.
}
} I am NOT contacting your postmaster, and have asked my postmaster to refrain
} from doing so. However, if I receive anything from you in the future other
} than civil communications, we'll BOTH have a chance to get to know each
} other better.
}
} Hoping you are capable of accepting my apology in the spirit in which it was
} offered, I invite you to disagree with me, my posts, my page, or my actions.
} But, I certainly carry with that hope some serious reservations about
} anyone who reacts in the manner you have.
}
} Let's try to keep this civil.

Dear Weekly,

You sent me 5 copies of trash and then you answer like this and want to
warn me about my behavior? Think again pink boy.

Since we don't have police on this net, when someone makes the kind of
commercial, mercenary, slimey move like you did, they take their dose of
garbage, thank Bob that it wasn't more, wipe themselves off, and make a
resolution not to do it again.

You're lucky you didn't lose your account, Funny Bone, so don't tough
guy me, okay.

By the way, if you want to report me to somebody here, go ahead. I've
been running network training for Computer Support Services here for
about 8 years now, so whoever you cry to will probably forward the
problem to me, anyway. And once I show them the header of your post,
and that'll be the end of it.

Too bad your feelings were hurt. Net justice is fast, Clown-Boy. Get
used to it. I have a script with your name on it, so I sincerely hope
for your sake that you consider this note "civil".

-- the formerly famous dr foo

P.S. By the way, I'm surprised your postmaster is letting you run a
commercial service at all. Thin ice, Zippy, very thin ice.

A message from Harold Hubschman sent to another mailing list...

<Forwards removed by Microsoft>

In today's us news and world report, Senate majority leader Bob Dole cited
the following reason for his presidential bid:

"We've never had a president named Bob, and I think it's time."

I wonder if Microsoft is aware of this?

Still trapped in Vermont. I keep meaning to call you at the radio station
(Will Frazier) but I don't have a calling card; I keep meaning to write
but i
don't have any stamps. If I have missed a Fist due to my lack of care in
keeping my name on your mailing list, will you please send it to me? I'm
reeeeelly sorry. My address is

A. Frazier
Box 163
Marlboro College
Marlboro VT 05344

I also need a new membership card, if that's okay. I hope I haven't
caused too much of a problem, mail-wise. By the way, what happened to
Buck Naked? I saw a scary "News of the Wierd" that said someone by that
name was dead I'd feel so bad if that was true.
Do I get to be Pope of all Vermont now? C'mon, I've been a member since I
was thirteen, and that's six years already! It's just Vermont, it's not
like anyone would miss it.
