Because America promotes freedom of religion.

And my religion is worshipping a piece of 1950's CLIP ART!

In places like Afghanistan, I WOULD BE KILLED FOR WHAT I BELIEVE IN!

But America believes that MY religion is just as important as any other religion, EVEN IF MY RELIGION IS A JOKE!

This is some nation we live in people, when you have the freedom to worship a collection of dots in the formation of just an average guy with a goofy grin with a pipe in his mouth! Other nations want you to only worship who they want you to.

Osama Bin Lauden would call me an infidel and kill me for what I believe in. But America considers BOB to be just as worthy of worship. AND THAT'S WHAT'S IMPORTANT! Planes may crash into buildings, but FREEDOM is something that no act of terror can ever destroy.

Yes, it was sad to see the World Trade Center collapse. Yes, it's sad to watch the news when all they talk about is the tragedy of this past Tuesday. But America is a nation all about coming together in strength when we've suffered through weakness. And America will prevail in this new war on terrorism.

There will be WAR!

Don't bother praying for a "peaceful resolution". That dream was shattered just as the World Trade Center was. When someone hits you, by BOB YOU HIT THEM BACK! And you HIT THEM HARDER! The revenge on Japan for Pearl Harbor was getting hit by not just one but TWO of the deadliest weapons ever made!

Our revenge on Osama Bin Lauden will be far far worse.

Why?

Because this was WORSE than Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor was a military base. Back then, those people knew they could be a target. But the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were innocent civilians who were just going to work. Because there were rescue technicians and firemen and policemen all just trying to assist those in need.

And I sense Rev. Nickie Deathchick is taking this harder than all the rest of us, cause as a former EMS, that could have been HER caught in World Trade Center that day. Well, maybe not considering Nickie doesn't live in New York. But in a way, she was there. In spirit as we all were. Seeing people injured and wanting to help, but left powerless and crushed by the collapse.

Osama Bin Lauden has stated, "We do not differentiate between soldiers and civilians. They are all targets of this fatwa (Holy War)"

If Osama thinks killing innocent American civilians is acceptable, then that is all the more reason that we should kill a few thousand innocent muslims civilians. Innocent people were killed in New York and Washington. So that's the double-edge sword.

If Osama thinks our innocent people are expendable, then so too are the innocent muslims in living in Afghanistan and the Talibad.

If Osama wants to make us suffer, then his punishment will be the suffering and pain of the innocent who will be caught in the wrath of America's counter-attack bombings.

If Osama is prepared to die for his cause, then we are prepared to kill him.

I could continue on all day with typing this very difficult rant, and I still would not be able to finish getting all these painful emotions out.

So I now yield the soapbox to whoever wishes to continue. I must try to get to sleep, so I can try to continue on with my life in the wake of this terrible tragedy. I close with the words I put on a small cardboard sign beside a candle that I took into work on Friday.

"The flame of freedom burns bright and is a flame that will never die! God bless America!"

That'll be my new .sig for my future postings, since I cannot watch television anymore and relax.

I hate to agree with anyone about anything, but the other day, Howard Stern
said (roughly) that no one who lets their government perform unspeakable acts
is an innocent person. You can argue that the United States government does
horrible things, but no one ever seems to have proof of it until years later
(see COINTELPRO, etc. http://mediafilter.org/MFF/USDCO.idx.html ). Does that
make us innocent people, not being able to prevent our government because they
hide things from us? Maybe, maybe not. You have to decide that for yourself.

You can't seem to stop the sort of person who gravitates to positions of
power in *any* government from eventually deciding to hell with the rules,
he's the only one who knows the "real story" and can make better decisions
than the unwashed masses who elected him (or the people who appointed him,
or whatever) and the general government who made the rules.

Maybe the only real difference between the United States/other democracies
and the rest of the world is that here, they're afraid to let us know what
they're up to and they work so deep and dark it *takes* years for ordinary,
decent people to root out them out, because they're so afraid of being found
out.

Maybe that's enough.
