songs about maturation

Does anybody know of any songs about acting like an adult? You
know, not being inane, intrusive and infantile? Not posting lists of
limp "naughty" things to say under various circumstances? Not trying to
be shocking or to Justify a hairdo with pompous and flatulent
philosophizing? You know, songs about having intelligent
conversations, taking responsibility for the results of one's actions,
reserving profanity for the times it's truly needed, trying to actually be
FRIENDS with members of the opposite sex, that sort of thing?

No, I didn't think so.

I remember a song I used to hear on Captain Kangaroo called, "I'm my own
Grandpa."

When I was a youngster I didn't have an imaginary friend but I pretended
I did.

Col Sphinx Drummond I always lie and that's the truth.
Commander of S.L.A.K I just think...Hell, I don't know.

I can vouch for that, but for me it was different, I HAD one but pretended NOT
to!
